ATMS plc has won a significant contract to supply the Home Hardware Scotland Group with a complete warehouse management system including voice terminals for picking.

Home Hardware Scotland is an independent retail distribution company based in Ardrossan, with a sister company in the South West. The Scottish arm consists of a large well-established wholesale operation and a network of 30 reputable hardware DIY and related retailers.

Dave Hughes, sales manager for ATMS plc, said: “This is a significant win for us as it puts us firmly in to the retail arena in Scotland. When the system goes live in January we believe Home Hardware will be the first combined VoIP site in the UK.

“The company is forward-thinking and renowned for its exceptional customer service, and we are pleased to be working with them to provide the most up-to-date warehouse management facilities available.”

ATMS will supply its StockTrack PLUS warehouse management system with the latest voice terminals from Psion Teklogix for picking, and standard terminals for all other operations. Home Hardware will use all hand held terminals for voice communication (replacing their internal telephone system) using voice over IP.

The Ardrossan site has two warehouses and an outside storage facility, and supplies a variety of hardware products throughout Scotland. ATMS’ StockTrack PLUS system will offer a wide variety of modules, including track and trace for tracking all electrical goods. The system will interface with the company’s Navison business system.

During 2008, ATMS plc will be working with sister-company Home Hardware SouthWest on phase two f the implement at their site in Barnstaple, Devon, which serves more than 44 shops throughout England.
