Mike Joireman, Jiffys' Information Technology Manager, said: "With more than 1,700 products and frequent deliveries being made to distributors, it is essential that we have a comprehensive computerised system to consistently ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction." |
|
"We contacted and reviewed the services of different warehouse management specialists and selected ATMS due to the flexible nature of its product. The system has the major advantage of being tailored exactly to our needs rather than us having to adjust our operations to work with a computer programme." Aware of the technical difficulties that can occur with the introduction of new equipment, Jiffy implemented a pilot scheme to ensure staff were familiar with the system.
Mike added: "The benefits were clear right from the start. We were able to locate stock even quicker than before and check on availability of products. We have introduced radio data terminals so that warehouse staff can put away and pick stock with greater flexibility."
The system provides complete product traceability and is a vital means to enhancing quality control. Via the use of product codes or customer order numbers, the company can trace stock to its exact location, improving stock accuracy, warehouse efficiency and ultimately customer service.
Benefits of the system:
