| Samuel Jones & Company is a leading manufacturer of self-adhesive materials to label printing companies and is based in St Neots.
They wanted to introduce a shop floor data collection, labeling and tracking system to help them analyse every area of production and to ensure total traceability of all products.
Having contacted several suppliers they turned to Birmingham based ATMS to design and implement a complete computerised tracking system.
The introduction of the system has helped them improve production efficiency and improve customer service. |

He said "We buy in jumbo rolls of paper and manufacture the adhesive ourselves. The process of adhesive coating, lamination slitting and packing is now fully tracked by the ATMS system."
Reels and pallets are uniquely bar code labeled for tracking and recording purposes. The labels are to the international EPSMA standard which is well used in the industry.
Using a central database, the system records everything from the amount of raw material used, to level of wastage and any downtime that occurs.
The system benefits both Samuel Jones and its customers. The system provides faster, better information to further improve production efficiency and provides customers with the product, batch and traceability information they need.
