His point is well made, with ATMS priding itself on offering WMS solutions that don’t just focus on solving basic stock control - pallet-in and pallet-out movements – but work as well to provide a platform for future warehouse management and operational needs.
The Stiller Group installed ATMS StockTrack PLUS initially at its Darton, Barnsley site, which provides contract warehousing and logistics services for a number of household name manufacturers in confectionery, beauty and electrical consumer goods. Having proved itself successful here, the next step is for the system to be rolled out to Stiller’s new purpose-designed warehouse at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, which will be fully operational in early 2005.
This is an exciting development for the Stiller Group. Said Larry Boulton: “Our experience with StockTrack PLUS at Darton has shown us that as well as using it for warehouse stock control and movements, we can also utilise it to help us manage our business.”
ATMS Managing Director, Stephen Cross, commented: “Our work with the Stiller Group has proved very productive. We have already instigated further discussion and are moving forward together in a number of areas including the latest technology in RFID and voice recognition systems, as well as looking at how StockTrack PLUS can be utilised to monitor reverse logistic operations.
“We recognise that Stiller’s are a very progressive company and have already discussed with them their intention to make Darton a showcase operation at which ATMS systems play a major role. Companies and organisations will be able to visit the warehouse and see just what Stiller’s and ATMS have accomplished together.” |
